Taliban - Kabul

Have you ever thought about the different cultures in our world and what they go through? The ethnic group known as the Hazara are visually, linguistically and religiously different from all the other people around them. Because of these differences, they have long been discriminated and persecuted by many groups. One of these groups is the Taliban. They ideals are demonstrated by torturing, murdering and abusing others. One of the cultural groups they do not approve of is the Hazara. Things have been looking better but they are still threatened and there is not much we can do for them except for giving them the message of God.

The Taliban are one of the groups that do not approve the Hazara. They do not allow women to receive an education, they prohibit television and force men to grow beards. Malala Yousafsat, an eleven year old girl, had to fight against the forces of the Taliban to receive an education. She survived a gunshot to the head after a Taliban member fired upon her because of who she is. Can everyone benefit from higher education they go house to house searching for Hazara and enslave those they find like Enaiat’s father or kill them on the spot.

An Afghani housewife, who since had fled to Pakistan, relates that the Taliban broke into her house and shot her husband and her two brothers, then they slit the men’s throat in front her and her sons. According to Maulawi Mohammed Hanif, a Taliban commander, announced to 300 people that the policy of the Taliban was to exterminate the Hazara. The Taliban are horrible people and they do not only kill the Hazara they also torture them. Sometimes they stuff the adults and kids inside a container and when the doors were sealed they would suffocate due to the searing midday heat. Enaiat who is an outstanding Hazara boy, lived his life running away from the Taliban

The Taliban were not the only ones that discriminated against the Hazara, mostly everyone with a different belief from them did. For example, in the story, when Enait was traveling from Pakistan to Iran an old man with a beard tried to murder him by pushing him of the car until a man with big hands stopped him and helped Enait until they had to part ways. Recently, the situation is looking better for the Hazara since the Taliban surrendered to the US army. They are one of the national ethnic minorities recognized in the new Afghan constitution and have been given full right to Afghan citizenship.

While many of the Taliban’s most radical leaders and supporters have been killed, taken prisoner or fled the country, many former Taliban have returned to their home and continue to work for their goals. If further actions are not taken to ensure that this type of ethnic violence never continues, the Taliban’s hatred of the Hazara will keep growing as is the case of recent times.

The Book of Relevations (5:9) states that “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. ” We need to help the Hazara and we can help them with teachings of God. Jesus gave clear instructions to make disciples of all nations on earth. What Gods church needs to be doing is making disciples among the Hazara people. There is still work to be done and there is a lot for us to do to help the Hazara! “The moment you leave the country, you are illegal. So you are sitting in a parking lot watching your people die, because even though you haven't chosen sides, you've been assigned one” Bibliographies Stern, Jeffrey.
